Officers

Officers of the ACBA are elected officials that serve a two-year term.

President: Lea Kulas

Resides on the Gulf Coast of central Florida with partner, twins, and both furry & feathered friends. When not getting her hands dirty or tending to the creatures, she works in the medical field as a registered nurse. Founder of Southern Biophilliac Urban Farm breaking ground in 2018 to covert her Urban space into a self sustaining environment. With a firm belief that growing and raising fresh food, being out in nature, and creating fulfilling connections are some of the best medicine. She greatly enjoys educating and inspiring others toward a more self sufficient life.

Vice President: Rebecca Lynch

Rebecca Lynch has spent her life working with animals. She grew up on a farm in upstate NY, and followed her love of animals to a career as a veterinary technician and certified animal trainer and behavior specialist. Having been a breeder of poultry for several years, she obtained her first Coturnix quail in 2020 and quickly became passionate about genetics, breeding, and behavior. She currently resides in middle Tennessee on her farm, Thieving Otter Farm, and is co-host of Two Chix Coturnix, and educational YouTube channel and podcast.

Secretary: Melissa Meyers

Native of California and transplant to West Michigan. Attorney by day and chicken/quail tender at night. 3 daughters and many spoiled pets (chickens, quail, bunnies, cats and 2 Australian Shepards make up our urban farm) Owner and Founder of Ales and Quail but currently on hiatus. Family and friends joke our house doubles as a “petting zoo”. Melissa loves all animals and definitely would make space for all Noah’s Ark full of animals.

Treasurer: Aaron Guidroz

Aaron brings over 15 years of hands-on experience and knowledge of raising quail. Aaron brings his joys of homesteading, passion for teaching, and financial insight to this position Aaron’s goals align to inject fresh ideas into the ACBA and help to accelerate its expansion. Aaron is also head chair of the marketing committee. Assisting to elevate Coturnix quail at poultry shows and, ultimately, to pioneer quail-only exhibitions.
